At the G-7 summit, Team Trump has objected to including the phrase “rules-based international order” in the final communique. America literally wrote those rules & they serve our interests. And where they needs fixing, it will only happen if we lead.
“The American side objected to including the phrase “rules-based international order ... “
The US constructed the rules-based international order, and it has benefited us and the world. And now Trump is objecting even to using that phrase in the G7 communique. Instead of isolating Russia, Trump is isolating America.
This is awesome and awful. We have a "rules-based international order" both because it's a good idea and because that's what America created, remaking the world in our image, But I guess we're now against rule of law at home and abroad
“The American side objected to including the phrase “rules-based international order,” even though it is boilerplate for such statements”
President proposes this after Dutch investigation shows Russian military downed passenger jet over Ukraine, killing 298 innocent people & our intel shows they tried to hack our election #WRONG Trump Attends G-7 with Defiance, Proposing to Readmit Russia
The American side objected to including the phrase “rules-based international order” in the G7 communique, even though it is standard phrasing for such statements.
Meanwhile, Trump’s team is objecting to the G7 saying that it supports a “rules-based international order”!!! This is the system that the U.S. has spent the last 70 years building, because we thought free trade helped support free peoples.
Russia indisputably tried to rig our elections and our president is representing its interests in Quebec while labeling Canada a national security threat. Can’t square that circle
A brazen slap in the face to the community of democracies that, ex officio, he’s supposed to lead - & to his 12 predecessors since Truman, 6 D’s & 6 R’s. Double-down takes on a new meaning, & it’s scary to imagine the bottom.
Incredible! You really could not make this stuff up! “The American side objected to including the phrase “rules-based international order,” even though it is boilerplate for such statements”
How can Trump begin to justify wanting to re-admit Russia to the G-7? Russia was kicked out of G-7 for annexing Crimea & hasn't left Crimea. Russia interfered & continues to interfere in our elections. Russia saved Assad. SAD to see Trump rewarding Putin.
"In a sign of America's diplomatic isolation, the phrase 'Nature, red in tooth and claw' did not make it into the final communique."
The G-7 is about reinforcing global rules yet Trump wants to admit Russia even while Putin with Assad in Syria shreds international rules against slaughtering civilians (the Geneva Conventions).
OMG.... At G-7 “The American side objected to including the phrase “rules-based international order”.
"When Mr. Trudeau was asked if he was disappointed that Mr. Trump had decided to leave early from the meeting on Saturday, Mr. Trump grinned, said, “He’s happy,” and playfully stuck out his tongue at the assembled reporters.
I'm so sorry. "The rules-based international order is being challenged, quite surprisingly, not by the usual suspects, but by its main architect and guarantor, the U.S.,” Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, said."
"so far he has used his clemency power mainly for celebrities or cases brought to him by celebrities"
#PutinsPuppet needs his puppeteer by his side.
I think it's important that other countries not give in to this turdulous lout—even if it hurts the US economy and their own economies in the short run.
