Chinese state media giants and each lost (most probably the same) 700,000 followers from their Twitter accounts overnight. The followers they "bought" with Twitter ads remain.

And there it is: Yesterday, I had just over 256,000 followers. Today, I find I now have 243,740, give or take. claimed that's because they've removed "locked accounts": I bet if they removed inactive accounts with no log-in in 4 years 30% would go
