MAJOR BREAKING DEVELOPMENT: Federal judge rules U.S. anti-FGM law UNCONSTITUTIONAL, does not protect all children on a "non-discriminatory basis" but only girls (!!) ... One of the predictions I made in this talk a few weeks back:
"When you permanently alter a child's genitals before they've acquired the capacity to say no, you deprive them of autonomy over the most private parts of their body". Watch on child genital cutting at our #HealthcareAndSecularism event
"There's an implied suggestion that if something is a religious practice it's worthy of respect. That doesn't follow. There may very well be religious practice that ought to be criticised." on genital cutting #HealthcareAndSecularism
This lecture explains why the judge ruled as he did (and what can be done about it to protect children going forward)
Gender or genital autonomy - Healthcare and Secularism Part 5 via excellent talk by very thought provoking discussion
"Did a US judge just make FGM legal? An explainer" - plus this second lecture explains why the judge ruled as he did (and what can be done about it going forward)
This is another fantastic resource from Brian. I've often shared it. Definitely worth a watch.
Personally for me I don’t support any child in having genital alterations, including boys. All of you need to watch the academic researchers, such as Brian Earp or Yasmin Abdulkadair, that have written extensively on this topic of F.C. & MC.
This is the best lecture I’ve seen on circumcision and the law.

If anyone wants to understand what just happened with the federal judge striking down the US anti-FGM law as unconstitutional, here is a lecture I gave on this exact issue last month:
Charla magistral sobre corte genital (masculino y femenino) de , posiblemente la mayor autoridad académica sobre este tema. Lo fundamental, el respeto a la integridad genital (sin necesidad médica) de quienes no pueden consentir.
Hi Brian. The NSS have now uploaded my edit of your full talk onto their YouTube page. Keep up the great work
