Obscuring the Issue of Trump’s Character
Roger Kimball seems determined to deflect from the contention that Donald Trump is a person of bad character without actually denying it.
Strong response by
- it's the conclusion that really nails it
My response to
In which Jonah takes a rapier to a critic.
masterfully and politely eviscerates the notion that tax cuts and yelling about walls justifies bad character, while
contorts himself to redefine what it means to be truly good.
I subscribe to
& I've liked several of
's books, but
's response to Kimball on Trump's character is a TKO -- pending RK's reply. (Been waiting for RK to write on T's character instead of academia's in his N&C essays.)
"the new definition of good character [Kimball] is working toward strikes me as inconsistent with arguments and positions Roger has taken in the past-and that nearly all conservatives have taken in the past."
eviscerates Mr. Kimball. Enjoy.
