Jared Kushner was rejected for a top secret clearance by 2 career security specialists, but their supervisor overruled them and approved him, say sources.
Not sure why Kushner is the headline. The real story is “clearance determinations by career experts are very, very rarely overruled, and it’s happened 30 times for Trump WH staff.”

“Kushner's was one of at least 30 [!!] cases in which Kline overruled career security experts and approved a top secret clearance for incoming Trump officials despite unfavorable information, the two sources said.”
Jared tried to create a secret backchannel to Putin and helped the Saudis cover up the Khashoggi murder via WhatsApp. So yeah, no shit he shouldn't have a clearance.
Shocking that Trump claims natl security for bogus wall, given this:"Jared Kushner's application for a top secret clearance was rejected..after an FBI background check raised concerns about potential foreign influence on him but their supervisor overruled"
Let's not forget: Kushner was just one of at least 30 Trump officials who received a top secret clearance despite unfavorable information that career officials thought was disqualifying.
Who were these other 30 people?
What security concerns were raised?
This is a shocking security breach. Overruled 30 CASES. 30.

Kushner's background check identified questions about his family business, foreign contacts, foreign travel and meetings during the campaign, sources say.
It’s likely this article contains a LOT of info the intel community considers classified. Anyone want to argue it’s not in the public interest to know this? Anyone?
Jared Kushner, the President’s adviser and son-in-law, receiving clearance and access that he should not get because of legitimate security concerns is a recurring issue in this administration. This is truly troubling.
The BEST thing Jared has going for him in this story? He didn't exactly get "special" treatment: He was one of THIRTY people whose top secret clearance rejections were overturned!
“On the basis of potential foreign influence” —which means no actual evidence of foreign influence. This doesn’t pass smell test, and that’s from fmr Asst WH Counsel and GC/DepDir/Acting Dir of OPM. To block a senior @POTUS appointee, you need real case
