While the enthusiasm to fix broken US healthcare is commendable, it's weird that a single-payer system is a rhetorical starting point. Even Europe is trending toward a public/private hybrid model. Do they really believe this, or is it just positioning?
British healthcare is single payer. In the UK, anyone who can afford it has private insurance and access to private doctors. Take from that what you will.
