Very happy to announce I have joined as a monthly columnist. I respond to the Nature article claiming that sex differences in the brain are "neurosexism" & a "myth"

Science Denial Won’t End Sexism |
Great new piece by on 's most recent gaffe regarding the myth of sex-typical brains. "We should be questioning why femininity is devalued instead of pretending that it’s society’s fault that women aren’t identical to men."
"[T]he response from the scientific community should be to improve its methods and to approach these questions with an openness to whatever one might find, instead of predetermining what the acceptable outcome should be"
It isn't a "theory" that brains are either male or female. The science backing this hasn’t been “debunked,” either. See here: (HT )
"Contrary to Eliot’s statement that Rippon’s book exposes 'the surprisingly weak evidence for brain sex differences in newborns,' a 2016 paper, also in Nature’s Scientific Reports, showed how testosterone alters brain growth in utero," writes .
"The science of sex differences isn’t perfect, but the response from the scientific community should be to improve its methods & to approach these questions with an openness to whatever one might find..."
"We can acknowledge that male and female brains have differences in structure and function, on average, without subscribing to the belief that one sex is better than the other."
You were doing fine until "I don’t deny that sexism exists, but sexism today is not so severe that it stands in the way of a woman achieving a career in science—or any field—if she really wants to."
Denying science will not end with sexism, says in her questioning of Lise Eliot's book, which denies brain differences between men and women. Study with 2838 part. found differences in gray matter in men and women,
.⁩:‘we should all want equal rights for women.& we should all want sexism to end. But the way to achieve this is not to deny the role of biology, or to mislead the public w feel-good ideas that have no basis in reality’ via ⁦

"Science Denial Won’t End Sexism" (not even if you pepper your science denial w/yummy socio-bullshit like "biosocial straitjackets"). Study I tweeted a few mins ago -- sex difs in FETAL!! brain development:
Researcher confirms #sex differences in the brain do, in fact, exist and studying them isn't inherently #sexist.
tenaciously persist in their fight to keep science...well, science, as opposed to ideology, tribal politics, identity politics or some other non-science garbage: .
A few weeks ago we posted an article that made the case for neurosexism. Here's the opposite argument, that there are significant differences between female and male brains.
