This is an excellent article. I’ve never understood the profoundly anti-feminist position that any (average) differences between men and women must mean that women are worse.
A new review of Gina Rippon’s book “The Gendered Brain”, by the seasoned sex differences neuroscientist Larry Cahill
Denying the Neuroscience of Sex Differences
“Denying the Neuroscience of Sex Differences” - absolute fire takedown of The Gendered Brain and the whole concept of “neurosexism” by Larry Cahill.
Remember when published a fawning review of a book claiming to "shatter the myth of the gendered brain"? We had a world leader in neurobiology--Larry Cahill--review it. He wasn't impressed.
"Imagine your response to picking up a copy of the leading scientific journal Nature and reading the headline: “The myth that evolution applies to humans.”"
Excellent article in taking apart the latest absurd anti-sex difference book. When will science actually triumph over ideology in this domain?
Larry Cahill is on fire

"A book like this is very difficult for someone knowledgeable about the field to review seriously. It is so chock-full of bias that one keeps wondering why one is bothering with it." Ouch.

"So here is a fact: It is now abundantly clear to anyone honestly looking, that the variable of biological sex influences all levels of mammalian brain function, down to the cellular/genetic substrate, which of course includes the human mammalian brain."

So are female and male brains the same or different? We now know that the correct answer is “yes”: They are the same or similar on average in many respects, and they are different, a little to a lot, on average in many other respects.
This is a pretty convincing review. Maybe I've been understating the strength of evidence for good-sized male/female brain differences. Neuroscience is so very much not my area that I can be a bit timid.
"Turns out that yet another book, this one with a fawning review in Nature, claims to “shatter” myths about sex differences in the brain while in fact perpetuating the largest one."

We're (mostly) the same in that we're (mostly) quite different, at the level of the individual. But ignoring population-level sex differences puts women at risk, e.g. using studies with male subjects alone to inform medical decisions for females
