Following outcry, the ban on used books entering Washington prisons via nonprofit groups has been lifted. Dept. of Corrections official concedes original decision was based on flawed data.
Last month, WA's corrections department quietly banned sending used books to prisoners. They claimed 17 instances where contraband was sent in books. It was actually more like 3, and might even have been closer to zero. Anyways, they've reversed it. 📕👍
