How Biden’s Campaign Confronted Him on Abortion
The Democratic front-runner’s shape-shifting support of the Hyde Amendment left him in a precarious position this week.
“Symone Sanders, one of Biden’s senior advisers, confronted him, she confirmed to me Thursday night, telling Biden that he was missing how his position disproportionately affected poorer women and women of color without easy access to abortion”
This is a bad, sad sign: apparently a culture where the staff are the heroes and have no qualms about boasting about it to media. I feel sorry for Joe Biden. I’d fire somebody today.
This is interesting not just for what Biden’s aides said to him but also for the fact that they’re leaking it.

Among what happened that prompted Biden's change on the Hyde Amendment:
confronting him directly, and

This story is the corollary to my earlier thread on the resilience of fusionism on the right. There are still plenty of Democratic voters who would back Biden's attempted abortion middle-ground. But if nobody in the room with him does that's what matters

Members of Joe Biden's inner circle confronted him over his support of the Hyde Amendment,
"This weekend, 19 candidates will head to Iowa for the state’s first major event of the year, which Biden is skipping."
Generally not a great sign when your campaign leaks that it is filled with advisers more heroic and enlightened than the candidate.
Biden campaign using euphemism that Hyde Amendment is about "access to health care" instead of saying it's about access to abortion
Drama in Biden land.
“[E]verything Biden attributed the change to had been apparent long before he pivoted.”
