Ravelry - a knit and crochet community
We are banning support of Donald Trump and his administration on Ravelry. We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy. More details
1. Working on a response to #Ravelry’s new anti-Trump supporter policy. Interested in hearing from: - anti-Trump Ravelers who DON’T support the policy - conservative Ravelers (pro-Trump or #NeverTrump) DMs open. Please share. #knitting #crocheting
This idea that you're just gonna ban fully half of voters from expressing their political preferences in public forums... you're out of your mind if you think this will have any positive impact on anything. Ill-conceived.

What leadership looks like "We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy. Support of the Trump administration is undeniably support for white supremacy."
The knitting and crocheting community takes a bold stand against Trump. Who will be president forever.
27. ... either because they don’t feel welcome (mainly conservatives - both Trump supporters and non-supporters) or on principle (conservatives & non-conservatives).

I hate I have to write this. I am disappointed in
for choosing to ban conservative knitters who voice support of the current US President under the guise of "not supporting white supremacy" and "inclusion".

The knitters are in the front, y'all. "We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy. Support of the Trump administration is undeniably support for white supremacy."
Trump's gonna win
Great policy from Ravelry, banning Trump support. Well thought through, described & implemented, anticipating possible abuses, protecting Republicans & conservatives from harassment. This is how to do rules and community guideline design. Bravo!
Do you ever wonder what your life would be like had you not had access to Twitter and didn’t get to meet journalists and others you met on this site? I’m currently trying to formulate a response to this. I think it’s a terrible idea.
7. Update: Since I started this thread #Ravelry had updated their new anti-Trump support policy with new language. Change is noted at the bottom of the page. #knitting #crocheting
