When Bernie is president, we will finally make the deep and structural investments to rebuild the communities that mass incarceration continues to decimate.

This is now the benchmark. Clear

I read this beginning to end 3x and I will reread it many times over. It’s abundantly clear,
isn’t interested in band aid solutions. He’s determined to fix the root causes of a broken justice system. Read for yourself here ⤵️
Today I am proud to be releasing the most comprehensive and progressive criminal justice platform of any candidate for president. We have a criminal justice system that is racist and broken, and working together we're going to fundamentally transform it.
Black students, even in preschool, are nearly four times as likely to be suspended as white students. We are going to end the school-to-prison pipeline. Read my plan to do that and end mass incarceration in America
This plan from
is the most comprehensive, transformative, robust, serious plan to change America’s justice system ever authored by a political campaign in the entire history of this country. And he knows it beginning to end. It’s his.
For years, I have reported on and fought for the dismantling of the school-to-prison pipeline. This agenda will end the criminalization and stigmatization of black and brown youth and turn our schools into sites of equity and dignity. Bravo

Want to see a real plan? Not the one a Cali AGs office had in place just a couple years ago that kept folks locked up so the state could extort free labor out of people either. 👀🤷🏽♂️ This one right here 👇🏽🇺🇸 #Bernie2020
This is the reason, I'm spending every day working to elect
as the next President of the United States. #Bernie2020 #BernieBeatsTrump #JusticeForAll
1. So Bernie released his criminal justice plan today, and it is... underwhelming. It’s long on proposals—some good!—but so completely devoid of specifics as to say very little. Also, has some strange errors that suggest a weak understanding of things.
Some of what is in the expansive criminal justice policy rollout from
Eric Garner and too many others should be alive today. Violence and brutality of any kind at the hands of the police is unacceptable and will not be tolerated when we are in the White House. Read the rest of my plan here: 7/7
Bernie Sander's criminal justice plan is waaaay too big to summarize in a tweet, but I'll highlight some of the interesting proposals beyond the headline stuff (legalize marijuana, ban private prisons, end civil forfeiture) ...
