Glad that Elections Canada clarified this. It's just too bad that, in this day and age, when Canadians across the country are dealing with its impacts, some Conservative politicians refuse to acknowledge the science behind climate change.

If I understand this it is the case that if a candidate or party made smoking or vaccination or climate change an “issue” then, during the short election period, restrictions would be put in place on spending by 3rd parties to comment on those issues.
