The Washington state governor released a hefty library of climate policies and raised money from over 130,000 donors, but failed to break 1% in the polls.

dropped out of the 2020 race. "We started a bit of an arms race among the candidates on climate change," he told me earlier today. "I think I’ve inspired people to be a little bolder." He's expected to run for a third term as governor.
History will record that he ran on some impressive proposals and made climate a bigger focus of the campaign. Not a bad contribution.
