This has been obvious for years. Kim Jong-un flattered Trump a bit, bought time with the summits, and used that extra time to consolidate and expand his arsenal. Trump got played. Badly. And it was incredibly predictable.

While Trump continues his love affair w/Kim (thereby making working level talks even more difficult), the administration continues insisting on the big deal at the expense of more realistic goals (such as a missile testing freeze). The worst of all worlds.
