Good morning! Have you read the Mattereum Business Case yet? In it describes our technology in detail (w screenshots) & outlines how we'll engineer a dramatic transformation in environmental impact for people while increasing our quality of life
"The more we can get people to tell the truth about their offers, the more efficiently the overall economy runs. We have to reshape the incentive landscape to get full disclosure about products & the Asset Passport achieves this". by
Long but interesting read from
is one of the most brilliant minds in the blockchain space - pardon the hyperbole, but this concept could literally save the world.
Long read, but totally worth it: How post-industrial capitalism and a new type of big data will save the planet "We can stretch existing capital assets to serve many, many more people, with both commercial and ecological imperatives"
If you already read it, or better still if you have not yet, has sharpened up the manifesto on how we can fix consumerism and deal with #ClimateChange / #overconsumption. Updated version here: #ethereum #mattereum #blockchain
"We need transparency, accountability and trust to govern the world, and will deliver it. Our goal is to enable a significant reduction of the #environmental and #social harms caused by inefficiencies in industrial capitalism" by

Wowee . This is some incredible stuff. This is the first time in a long time I've read something which made me more hopeful.
It was v hard to find a like for like replacement screw for an older home appliance. Alternative to simple fix wld have been to scrap it/pay £1k to replace. This is EXACTLY why we need Asset Passport & #DigitalTwin , to fix consumerism
ICYMI Yesterday we published the business case: How Post-Industrial Capitalism & a New Type of Big Data Will Save the Planet "We need transparency, accountability and trust to govern the world, and Mattereum will deliver it" ~
a version of the same talk, well, actually the article where we figured out the entire story. Start at the end, you can see how we issue the Asset Passports!

We innovated production, but not consumption has a plan for that

"In short, into the machine you pour #nature & #money, and if you're lucky more money comes out. We don’t even #account for the nature that goes into the machine, in most cases. It just gets #burned as the price of doing business." proposes...
A very lucid blog post by ⁦⁩ explains how we can still win (survive) by changing the software (how we organize people) of civilization. “How post-industrial capitalism and a new type of big data will save the planet”

A new podcast about blockchain, climate, and environment - we really covered a lot of ground, I hope you will enjoy this! Let me know what you think
The Asset Passport will revolutionise our relationship with the things we own, sell, buy. This will change the nature of consumption and global trade. Here explains how: #mattereum #assetpassport #ethereum #blockchain #climatechange

"We got really good at #making things, but we have not become much smarter at #consuming them, & this gap is breaking the world & us along with it." I don't believe the "upgrade" of #capitalism to "#LeanConsumption" mode will necessarily be as "gentle"...
Ah, if you're enjoying the slide deck on refugee management, I think I also figured out how to fix industrial capitalism in a way that is both profitable and will hugely reduce environmental impact. Please give it a read, some people find it life changing
How post-industrial capitalism and a new type of big data will save the planet by ⁦
is the business case, for how #Ethereum smart contracts can fuse to Digital Twins to produce a new kind of capitalism - a capitalism capable of providing for seven billion people.
How post-industrial capitalism and a new type of big data will save the planet. Our goal is to enable a significant reduction of the environmental and social harms caused by inefficiencies in industrial capitalism.
2/ If we look at the 'Whole Systems Framework for Sustainable Consumption and Production' that he co-authored, within the IPCW model we mastered the first two (Investment & Production), but are very inefficient at the latter two (Consumption and Waste)
"The Manifesto: green capitalism, information markets, and the blockchain" A substantial tidy up (and much better title) for our #longread on the future of industrial capitalism in an information rich networked trade environment. Read it & RT!
Severely worried about the global environmental crisis and the crisis of capitalism? I think I know how to help we can use technology to radically change our relationships to material consumption. When you can see it, it's like new industrial revolution!
If we fix the incentives for high quality durable goods to be manufactured in vast quantities, then resold and reused endlessly (standardisation!), eventually everybody who needs one has one. We can get off the TRASH TREADMILL. We can do this. #longread
The Alpha approaches and and his team are working on one of my favorite projects in the portfolio. Exciting times ahead as ETH bridges into real world legal contracts
Today I'm going to deliver a TEN MINUTE summary of the Manifesto on blockchain, climate change, the circular economy, a post-libertarian vision for the blockchain future, and the use of the internet to protect nature will post afterwards
Very good responses to the new piece about how the blockchain enables us to optimize the hell out of the way we consume and use natural.reaoueces - creating better lives with much less environmental impact
If you haven't read the Manifesto yet, cue it up. It will change how you see industrial capitalism, and what the odds are for a greener, fairer future. Short of fusion reactors, I can't see a better path forwards than actually figuring out waste
Well surely we can help with that here, live product (very early) at - and for the full intellectual depth on how this gets us a clean green economy starting work on Corona here
The world is now hard enough I feel fully aligned. Climate refugees? Californians displaced? Building resilient systems? Mapping social changes? Fixing it all?
Gupta #Longreads crew there's fifteen years of wisdom crammed into this thing, and it's a deep analysis about how to fix industrial capitalism with less fighting. Read, analyze, process, pass on. Something for #ExtinctionRebellion to read in the trenches?
Well, this one is lot more near-market and actionable. We can actually do things about this one. It's human scale and relatable. is the overview (LONG!) but the talk was a lot more humane and convincing.
A long, gruelling editorial process has produced the new piece: How Post-Industrial Capitalism and a New Type of Big Data will Save the Planet. 10,000 words, hopefully destined to join the Identity piece and Programmable Blockchains in Context.
On the other hand, with correct preparation, I'll crank out 10,000 words of complex technical prose in four hours the first draft will need work, but it'll 100% be there - copy editing only, the arguments will be complete. Takes about two weeks to recover
As is traditional, when things blow up on twitter is my company and we do blockchain-based product information systems, and digital identities for physical things. We think we know how to fix consumer and manufacturing economies too, with free enterprise.
ah not on a while, I have a few updates!
This essay gets right into the implementation details of how we are going to create this revolution. I think you'll really enjoy it!
Tomorrow I'm going to deliver a TEN MINUTE summary of the Manifesto on blockchain, climate change, the circular economy, a post-libertarian vision for the blockchain future, and the use of the internet to protect nature yes I am :-)
Yeah I'm well up the stack right now. I'm not keeping track of platform development at all (see and a bit easier going ) so, yes, if there's trouble at the mill, I wouldn't have seen it. Fully deployed on application layer.
Pulling together intellectual threads from all parts of my life over 21 years, from pandemic flu back to e-gold. The long paper really uncorked something, and I'm sort of seeing the disparate pieces of my world-repair plan come together into a whole system
Hey this lovely piece on and green consumption uses some work I did around the Institute when I was there in around 2003 I think you'll find the whole thesis about Product Omniscience to be resonant with current themes at RMI.
Gupta #Longreads crew there's fifteen years of wisdom crammed into this thing, and it's a fundamental analysis about how to fix industrial capitalism using the #blockchain. Read, analyze, process, promulgate. We need new thinking on the global situation.
As you know I'm a committed realist who uses terms like "ongoing economic genocide." But when I came across this model, this way of seeing the world, my heart was filled with hope. We have been asking the wrong questions of our tools There's a big fix!
Sunday #longread - in which describes our technology in some detail (there are screen shots) and details how to engineer a truly dramatic transformation in environmental impact for ordinary people while actually *increasing* our quality of life
I feel a lot of responsibility to make this fucking company work, because *within capitalism* it is the best possible strategy to implement my humanitarian goals But if capitalism breaks, just slides off a cliff? Wow would I have a lot more options.
