When Privilege Callouts Turn Callous
The Guardian twisted the social-justice concept to diminish David Cameron’s grief.
The privilege framework was conceived to stoke self-reflection and increase empathy and compassion. It is now too often twisted into a callous rhetorical tool marshaled to diminish the claims of political opponents to sympathy and shared humanity.
