A staggering 43% of white Harvard students are legacies, athletes, or children of donors, study finds. Of those, around 75% would have been rejected if not for their special preference.

Meanwhile, 43% of white applicants get added points (athletes, legacies...). This too-many-Asians story rests on a false trade-off. If Harvard admitted fewer less-than-qualified white kids, there would be many more slots for qualified kids of all colors.
