nytimes opinion writer to : "be quiet and let us keep destroying progressivism through narcissism and pettiness"
This article is written by a guy who tried to try Dave Chappelle’s comedy to the suicide of a trans woman, actively lying about the fact the woman was a fan. That person writing this article helps clarify things.
Did the really just publish an op-ed which amounts to “ok boomer” in order to attack Obama? Just one of its many attempts to sabotage its own credibility.
"Failing New York Times" just got major legs under it. Nice job, .
I'm trying to understand Millennial/GenZ cancel culture & not just be an old Baby Boomer, but it seems to me that if you think is not woke enough to understand what injustice means I think you've gone off the rails of moral progress.
Obama is cancelled.
How woke is the NYTimes? So woke, Obama is now an old, white-adjacent man.
Mr. Obama is right that “the world is messy.” But the messiness young people see looks like people who are suffering because others stubbornly reject progress and refuse to show compassion, explains
That time a NYT columnist criticized President Obama for telling young people to do more than just whine at people online and instead to get off their asses and actually do something about injustice... #OKMillenial
Boomers, Gen X-ers, and people with regressive views hate that young people use social media to talk about racism, sexism and homophobia. But they're going to have to get over it, writes
Mr. Obama is right that “the world is messy.” But the messiness young people see looks like people who are suffering because others stubbornly reject progress and refuse to show compassion, explains
"Yes, Mr. Obama, we know that some of these people very likely 'love their kids.' It doesn’t make a difference," writes
Likewise, today, this writer makes a big assertion: "Boomers and Gen-Xers, along with a handful of younger people with more regressive views, have been agitated by the way many young Americans … use social media." He simply states "regressive" as fact.
Hilarious new article from Godfrey Elfwick.
"What members of older generations now dismiss as 'cancel culture' — or, as Mr. Obama put it, 'being judgmental'— is actually one of many modern-day iterations of protests they took part in when they were younger." - good take from
Pls read on the need for impassioned activist voices on social media in . On the eve of this evening’s Awards Gala at , I’m grateful for his and other young Philly journalists on the national stage.
Obama’s Very Boomer View of ‘Cancel Culture’
“Shut the fuck up, Obama, you stupid fucking BOOMER!” The New York Times in 2019, ladies and gentleman
So to sum up: Obama is a boomer and he’s canceled because he called out the horse shit that is cancel culture. Also, my god the guy who wrote this is the most condescending self-important person on earth my gosh Article:
I see this argument a lot and it is so fundamentally stupid. The entire reason you support one policy position over another because you think the opposing one is harmful. Otherwise why care which policy is employed?
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. This is eerily reminiscent of the young Boomers' most jejune theme (and there was lots of competition), "Don't trust anybody over 30."
For those who wish to read the piece, which is every bit as bad as the above clip promises
“What members of older generations now dismiss as “cancel culture” — or, as Mr. Obama put it, “being judgmental”— is actually one of many modern-day iterations of protests they took part in when they were younger.”
It remains to be seen (if we survive that long) whether adopts the same views of when he reaches #okBoomer age. It's one thing to punch up at those in power, but it's another to pile on misinformed plebeians without empathy
"The group that Obama joins in his scolding...is dominated by white straight men, far-right conservative talking heads, & celebrities who feel entitled to audiences who appreciate their art & dutifully ignore their missteps." Why print such woke gibberish?
Obama’s Very Boomer View of ‘Cancel Culture’
And y'all seem entirely confused as between representations and realities. Working hard to fix the words while leaving the oppression intact.
"Old, powerful people often seem to be more upset by online criticism than they are by injustice." By
