Labour vows to outspend Tories on the NHS
The party says it would tax the "wealthiest" to cut hospital waiting times if it wins the election.
Extra money for the NHS is important and welcome. BUT advancing and sustaining health demands a much broader programme: attacking the social determinants of health, from early child development to social care. This is the social transformation we need.
🎤 "Would the NHS be part of plans for a 4-day week?" 🗣️ "It's not happening. There's not a 4-day week coming in the NHS" Jonathan Ashworth says Tory claims a shorter working week would eat into Labour's NHS funding plan are "nonsense"
We need a grown-up debate about NHS reform and what we want it to provide, not this crazy race to spend more than the other side
