1/ THREAD: As of this morning, there have been 19,563 deaths in NYC reported as confirmed or probable #COVID19. Staggering. But also an undercount, as detailed in a new report.
Imagine a world in which the MMWR COVID reports were plentiful. Over 6 months in, over 6 million reported infections in the US alone, and yet we have so many unanswered questions. We can learn from other countries, but not every lesson is generalizable.
