1/ Texas saw a modest but steady increase in the growth of new coronavirus cases in the two weeks since some businesses reopened at 25% capacity. As the state reopens, Texas is still missing some of the benchmarks for reopening.
"The number of new cases reported each day has grown from about 918 during the week ending May 1 to about 1227 now. 'We are at an exquisitely vulnerable juncture in Texas.... These data are evidence of likely increased spread among community members'."
My interview: "I understand the importance of opening the economy, and I do empathize with the governor," he said. But I'm worried we have not put a health system in place that's commensurate with the needs to open it up"
