Be afraid. Be very afraid. After the appalling way he’s handled Coronavirus, we definitely don’t want Boris Johnson to have more control over our NHS. Please RT if you don’t either.
Be in no doubt. The ‘central control’ & Dominic Cummings crave is a short sharp descent into privatisation. If they have their way, the NHS as we know it will be history.
God help us: Boris Johnson plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control
massive act of self harm at an absolutely appalling time. The Boris Johnson plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control | Society | The Guardian
Retweet please if you don’t believe the NHS will be safe in Johnson’s hands.
As a #GP at sharp edge of implementing #nhs10yearplan from last year. We REALLY DON’T need structural reform. We need stability/consistency, to build trust, and collaboration. This is about people, and shared vision, not command and control.
If there's anything 250 hours in Parliament teaches you it's that huge legislative reorganisations are a fucking waste of time.
The last shake up cost £4bn and was a mess. Let’s hope this one is about more than structures (or sidelining Simon Stevens). To get this right one would need a public service change model. Do we have one?
People are right when they say it isn't enough to applaud the NHS. We also need to make it easier to privatise it and hand large contracts to friends of Dominic Cummings.
Boris Johnson wants ‘direct control’ of the NHS. Get in line, chums of Dominic Cummings, there are big contracts coming your way....
Why is the remedy always “we need to centralise power more” when the diagnosis was “we are way too centralised”?
I know what shake up we need but I’m sure it’s not what ⁦⁩ has planned. We need.... - a yr on yr 5% increase in funding - an end to privatisation & outsourcing - doctors on the ground being listened to - an end to bullying & harassment

'PM has set up a taskforce to devise plans for how ministers can regain direct control over NHS ' Extraordinary story by
Boris Johnson plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control to meet his ultimate ambition of PRIVATISING NHS....LOCK STOCK & BARREL!
Oh dear god - just what we need - another top down reproduction the NHS... led by the same bunch that brought us the last ill conceived changes. Eight years - that is pretty much the regular cycle - will they never learn?
Apparently the Treasury is ‘irritated’ that waiting lists continue to rise and hospital Trusts are in the red. More Whitehall control on the way.
Johnson plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control: The taskforce is also examining whether to turn integrated care systems into legal entities..raise difficult questions about the powers & responsibilities of individual hospitals.
PM plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control as “ministerial frustration at the role some health agencies have played during the pandemic, notably Public Health England” odd as this is the agency directly under govt control
Could it possibly be the case that endless NHS reorganisation is part of the problem, not part of the solution? And that Hancock’s lack of authority could be due to some personal characteristic or another?
Tighter central government control of the NHS. Yeah, that should work.
Not now Bernard
Interesting ⁦⁩ report on potential legislative changes to NHS to come. Reorganisations cost a year and a half of distraction from core purpose (in this case providing health care), but current set up is messy & complex legacy of 2012 reforms
OMG the Tories are going to wreck the NHS, again!
How best to ⬆️50,000 avoidable #COVID19 deaths?? #BoJo's evil #NHS sabotage plan #vote-loser
With a shake up of the #NHS looming, mark my words. The government will start to believe that civil servants are now the new experts in #publichealth. Isn’t that what they have believed all along? I doubt if Public Health England will exist in 2 year time
This seems a spectacularly poor time to launch this The NHS is already badly shaken. ‘Boris Johnson plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control’ | Society | The Guardian
and this for the UK is an extremely bad idea. #UKpolitics, #healthcare
Here’s an idea - if governments left health services alone for 5 years without repeated ‘radical shake-ups’ and reorganisations, medical staff might be able to deliver care to their patients
Can you think of anyone you want less in control of our wonderful #NHS than ?
Boris Johnson plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control
Yay Another NHS reorganisation
Oh please no 😟
What could possibly go wrong?> Boris Johnson plans radical shake-up of NHS in bid to regain more direct control
If the PM really wants an #NHS overhaul, he needs to bring public health and 'national health' closer. Alcohol and drug misuse closely tied to mental disorders and need to be commissioned jointly. #COVID__19 has shone a light on this all the more clearly.
HEALTH WARNING. An NHS restructure directed by Dominic Cummings? We should all be very very worried indeed.
'Taking back control'. The old jokes are still the oldest.
Another one? Not again - please!
