California Will Now Collect LGBTQ Coronavirus Data
Advocates had been pushing for the state to collect such data for months, arguing that LGBTQ people are left out of California's response to the outbreak.
The fact is -- we don’t know enough about how #COVID19 has impacted communities across our state. This is a step in the right direction.
California is home to nearly 15% of all LGBT adults in the US. It is important that we have data on the impact of COVID-19 on the LGBT population in order to develop interventions that address their specific combination of needs. -
