Rumors are spreading through Oregon that wildfires are being lit by antifa arsonists from Portland and/or Proud Boys. Neither of those things are true. State and county officials are debunking them and no one associated with either group has been arrested.

The AP’s published a story about the proliferation of this misinformation as fires raged on Thursday. The FBI warned of the problem on Friday. Facebook didn’t take this action until late Saturday.
