A Whitehall source familiar with the government proposals told me they were part of a Downing St drive to “radically beef-up the hostile environment” in 2021 following the end of the Brexit transition.

is seriously looking to potentially violate refugees' rights and international law in a massive way by setting up offshore "processing" facilities.
Only serious sadists would look at the Australian offshore detention system for asylum system and think it should be emulated
