In #TN, election officials match 🗳 signatures, but it’s 1 of only 4 states w no policy for fixing mismatches. In 2018, signature mismatch was 3rd most common reason for ballot rejection in US. Many voters never knew their votes were trashed. #VoteEarly

More than half of U.S. states rely on signature matching to verify the identities of people who vote by mail. This is how election officials vet voter signatures based on slants, sizes and loops.
