BREAKING: 88 of Amy Coney Barrett’s faculty colleagues at Notre Dame have released a letter saying she should withdraw from consideration for the Supreme Court.
NEW: 88 Notre Dame faculty members pen open letter asking Judge Amy Coney Barrett to halt her own nomination
It appears a large group of Notre Dame faculty — including at least three theology professors — have published a letter calling on Amy Coney Barrett to halt her Supreme Court nomination process until after the election.
An Open Letter to Judge Amy Coney Barrett From Your Notre Dame Colleagues
Wow. Wish it made a difference smh. 88 of Amy Coney Barrett’s faculty colleagues at Notre Dame have released a letter saying she should withdraw from consideration for the Supreme Court.
Oh no. "Next, the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish..."
Can't come up with a better example of the ineffectualness that plagues us than a bunch of professors asking ACB politely to step down from her nomination because of Norms and Fairness
Putin must be so, so happy that the latest harm to the USA is transforming once-admirable University of Notre Dame into a place of jealousy, backstabbing and petty vanity. This letter is not about philosophy it's about score-settling.
Letter from members of the Notre Dame community asking #AmyConeyBarrett to withdraw from the nomination process. Pleased to see some philosophers speaking up about this (but disappointed not to see more).
I find this interesting because it is the same thing we run into in academia with open-letters. This was brought up in questioning and the implication was that these were Barrett's legal colleagues. They aren't.
